Mix & Layer Breakfasts

Clementines separate into their own little portions, making them handy for a no-knife breakfast. A few segments are torn smaller and folded into cottage cheese; the rest sit on top with a scattering of crisp cereal.

The skill you’re learning
Peeling over a clean bowl catches juice that can flavor the rest of the dish. Tearing soft segments also keeps this preparation free of sharp tools.
Try one change
Replace the cottage cheese with 3/4 cup thick plain yogurt.
Serving & storing
Refrigerate covered at 40°F or below within 2 hours of preparation (1 hour above 90°F); use within 1 day. Keep the cereal dry and separate until serving.
