Apple Cheddar Stack Sandwiches
Toast & Sandwich Lab
2 sandwiches · Active 8 min · Total 8 min
Ready-sliced apples bring a juicy crunch to cheddar sandwiches. A very thin layer of mustard keeps the flavor gentle. Choose flexible, thin apple slices and arrange them flat so the sandwich closes without wobbling.

The skill you’re learning
Layering flat pieces makes a sandwich easier to bite. Leave a small border around the filling so it does not slide out when you press the top down.
Try one change
Use 1/2 cup ready-to-eat thin pear slices instead of apple slices.
Serving & storing
Refrigerate covered at 40°F or below within 2 hours of preparation (1 hour above 90°F); use within 1 day. For a packed lunch, use an insulated lunch bag with two cold sources and keep chilled until eating; discard uneaten packed portions after lunch. Use ready-sliced fruit within its label’s opened-storage time if shorter.
