Whisk-It Cinnamon Cocoa
Celebration & Coolers
4 small mugs, 1/2 cup each · Active 10 min · Total 15 min
Cocoa powder mixes more smoothly into a paste than straight into a full pan of milk. The young cook makes that paste at the counter. The grown-up heats and pours the drink, then lets everyone wait for a comfortable sipping temperature.

Before you begin · grown-up check
The adult heats milk on the stove, pours the hot cocoa and checks it has cooled enough to drink.
- A grown-up checks ingredient labels, the workspace and the young cook’s readiness before starting.
- Adult sets out heat-safe mugs on a clear surface and places the pan on the stove.
Ages are a starting guide. A grown-up checks your readiness and stays nearby. Follow the actor label on every step.

The skill you’re learning
A small amount of liquid wets every powder particle. Once the paste is smooth, it spreads easily through the rest of the milk.
Try one change
Leave out cinnamon and use 1/4 tsp extra vanilla for plain vanilla cocoa.
Serving & storing
A grown-up puts leftovers in a covered shallow container at 40°F or colder within 2 hours, or 1 hour above 90°F. Use within 1 day. A grown-up reheats only the portion needed to 165°F.
